Some call me MinWah. Others prefer MinRAWR (for I was born in the Year of the Tiger), or mini mouse (for my eating habits).

This spring and summer, I will be meandering some miles from Turkey to Mongolia, on a bicycle journey to rediscover the Silk Road. It is a journey to relive history from the West to the East, not only to better understand the world around us, but also my own identity rooted in Western surroundings and Chinese heritage.

But writing here is really not “about” me. It is about the people who inspire me–unbelievable friends, family, and open-hearted strangers on the road. It is about their friendship, their warmth, their laughter, their faith, their kindness, their love. With my deepest sincere gratitude to these people, all that they have done for me, and the humanity that embraces our world, here are their stories.
